The PR Student

Hello to all in the blogoshere! I am new to this whole blogging thing, but I have a feeling I am going to enjoy it!  My name is Dana Rae Luisier. I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, pursuing a degree in Public Relations and a minor in General Business. I have to admit that the journey to my senior year has been an interesting one. I did not originally decide on Public Relations for my major. I began college pursuing a degree in Broadcast, Print, Web Journalism. After anchoring UWW-TV News LIVE for three semesters, I decided Broadcast Journalism was not for me. I stumbled upon Public Relations when looking through other options in the school of communications here at Whitewater. This was a huge blessing, and I could not be happier with this change.

Right now, I am Vice President of the Public Relations Student Society of America. This organization is an awesome way to experience PR with a group of students going through everything that you are experiencing right now. If you are interested in PR, marketing, or advertising, think about joining PRSSA! It is a fun way to enjoy and get involved in the Public Relations and Communications world.

As of now my goal for after college is to work for a corporation in the Public Relations field. I think it would be amazing to get to work for a corporation that supports some type of charity or cause. This would be a great opportunity, because planning and completing a campaign for a cause would be a plus for me in my career.
